EXTOL AS2 Secure - Importing .p7b files

18th July 2013

EXTOL Secure (ESX) users will find it difficult to import a certificate file with an extension of .p7b.

A .p7b suffix usually implies that the certificate chain is included file, not just the original certificate or .cer.

To get around this issue:

  • Use Microsoft Windows to open the .p7b certificate file
  • Once open, locate the original certificate (not the certificate authority) and open it within Microsoft
  • Choose the “Details” Tab
  • Click on the “Copy to File” Button
  • Choose a place on your PC to place the certificate.
